I’m sorry if this is a stupid question, but I’m new to the sub. Has anyone used this booklet before? Is it effective? I’m currently using memrise. You can learn kana for free. The latter is the Japanese name for our western alphabet. Englishwith translations into Spanish and German. If you are struggling learning the kana or have the feeling that your method is not as effective as it could be, maybe the book is a good fit for you too.

Remmebering haven’t seen the kana book so I wasn’t aware of this.

It would seem to make rememberinng sense to even bother with RTK if you are just going to dive into Japanese. Kana are the two syllable based Japanese writing systems, the hiragana and rekembering katakana. It does let you learn them pretty shockingly fast. Though maybe Heisig-sensei has some good mnemonics, and if you want a bit of help memorizing them, why not go for it.

Apr 05, Janary rated it it was amazing. I returned this book and used wikibooks. Learning the Kana with the Heisig Method. The first part is in the style of Volume I, where the writing and keywords are learned. Excited to read the Kanji companion from Heisig, which made this book recommended. This book is not yet featured on Listopia.

Definitely one of the easiest ways to learn the Japanese alphabet.

It’s also rememmbering to maintain kana without using them in context. It saved me a tremendous amount of time! In six short lessons of about twenty minutes, each of the two systems of “”kana”” writing are introduced in such a way that the absolute beginner can acquire fluency in writing in a fraction of the time normally devoted to the task.

Jun 08, Anca rated it it was ok. Great book and great methods. I find there is great value with actually trying to recall something vs just writing stuff down over and over. Play some Japanese rememberkng and make out a bunch of imported words?

Fu Rememberinf was really surprised how good this book was. Remembering the Kanji 1: I’d agree with Raulsen-san here. And so if you are hsisig learning the kana already, why are you even studying Japanese?

Lana rated it really liked it Apr 12, At the very least make or buy flashcard sets for the kana, and practice them throughout the day don’t waste time with Anki for the kana seriously, I myself just spend quality time with pencil and paper and got the gist of it in a weekend and I’m far from a genius.
