Although Clay says all this, he deeply rejects this plan of action. White lady, Lula, is very prejudiced and thinks he knows who barka is. These plays were awful.

But the message Baraka is screaming through this play is dytchman, clear and important. I can see why Grace left that racist ignorant son-of-a-bitch in the first place.
It highlights dutvhman inherent conflict between white liberal intellectuals and African Americans struggling under oppression. The play was written by Leroi Jones before he changed his name to Amiri Baraka and does quite a bit to explain why Baraka’s writing is, at least for a while, much less complex and nuanced than Jones’s.
Furthermore, I believe that the whole idea of a militant black war lord hellbent on starting a race war against whites was done much better in Sam Greenlee’s book, The Spook Who Sat By the Door.

What I remember best was the extraordinary performance given by Patricia Powers, and the forty-five second blackout I had to time in synch with Patricia’s arm coming down in a signal for the other “white” passengers to begin their murderous torture of the one black man on board.

Any major social or political force ignores or discounts women at its own peril. And the difference included a white man being praised whereas a black man is labeled tyrant and a nigger. Lula point blank is a bitch!
