The Elenium by David Eddings | : Books

The author makes a big deal about eleniym the great cultural differences between the characters but they mostly all sound like one another. The trilogy pretty much reads like Eddings sat down one day, started at the beginning, and shipped each chapter off without ever reading it again. What I love about Eddings’ writing is that he builds full and different worlds, and seems to put real thought into everything about his world.

Don’t look for brilliant writing, deep characters, wickedly twisted plots. I really liked this series, which I haven’t read since highschool.

Can one knight make a difference and awaken the sleeping queen? There were a few little niggles that part of me just can’t get past. Together with his fellow Books by David Eddings.

Finally the knight Sparhawk had come to possess Bhellion, the legendary jewel of eddjngs. Not a ground-breaking fantasy, and definitely reminiscent of the Belgariad.

Overuse of adverbs abound. And oh my GOD, his editor needed to tell him “If you use the word ‘bleak’ one more time I will cram this thesaurus down your throat.


Stunning Weddings never fails to deliver! And yet, it isn’t quite perfect. The second book reads like a fairy tale where nothing really makes sense and things just happen without explanation.

The Elenium by David Eddings. Great books – typical of Eddings. So, the short version is, if you like quests, swords, true love, magic and knights, read this. It’s a fun read. I liked this trilogy better than the sequel trilogy.
