Recently serviced and PAT tested. 2 x Watts RMS / 4 Ohms, 2 x Watt RMS / 8 Ohms. ventilation (fan off the front), XLR male or female, out HP terminals. C-Audio GB Power amplifier. 2x watts @4 ohms. Very good condition overall, been in a rack case most of its life. Well regarded British. Can someone provide any guide to the history of C-Audio’s amp products?I know the company gb – ok. ra – good studio amp.

Unless you want to arrange your own courier at your own cost, whilst I find a suitable box to send it in. As it’s not that much power for pa use. Very heavy too as it’s 17kg, 3u rack size, and has those old type round metal transistors looks to be mosfets and a HUGE toroidal transformer inside.

There still seem to be quite a few gh202 models in use but which of them have proved to be the most reliable? The implementation of the AMPSAP protocol means that sophisticated internally fitted system controllers are available to drive active loudspeaker systems.
Although, as with all Mosfet amps, it can start getting expensive if you have to replace lots of output devices. When they get ragged they get absurdly hot though and I wouldn’t trust them to last too long with daily abuse. Primarily intended as a competitively priced, reliable and powerful work horse for the musical instrument market, the GB Series has quickly established itself as a must have amongst touring musicians.

I’ve had mine, trouble free, for about 4 or 5 years. I have 2 x Ra amps, if used below max power they stay cool and seem pretty reliable.
I’m not necessarily a fan of their sound but they do seem to be good workhorses. Can someone provide any guide to the history of C-Audio’s amp bb202 Currently on hold, cheers.
