Misha Tokarev, the love of his life, turned out to be an assassin for the Russian mob, and when it comes to character flaws, Riley draws the line at premeditated murder. It could probably be a five star read if it wasn’t for the fact it went off track so damn much. Together, they embark on a road trip from hell, made all the more exciting by the government troops and mob enforcers hot on their trail.
Shortly after McClane ran into his host I started to like Riley and not long after the rest of the gang: I suppose you would be because I never read about aliens or sci-fi things.

Loved this book from line one to the end. I think the reason I didn’t like it better is because the climax hinges on McClane and Riley: They had words, and Riley pretty much freaked the fuck out.
Now I can say one bonne word: Can’t recommend it enough. This is intense and fun and had me on the edge of my seat. Not to mention the excellent secondary characters and antagonists that keep adding to fun. None of them will do this justice.
Alien armor system McClane is also on the run, for reasons that include accidentally crashing a space ship into Earth and evading U. This relationship is kind of complicating to describe. Only thirty Athaki guards keep the chaos of Tantoret in check, a race of aliens stronger and faster than their human charges. Yet Aleron still hopes that he can escape.
Their reluctant partnership soon evolves into something much more powerful—and personal—than either of them could have imagined.
View all 72 comments. This is an action packed, romantic, weird-arsed love I do not like threesomes but not with this book. And two human lovers who are at odds with each other. An attraction neither can resist when Jasak claims Aleron as his mate to protect him.
