Biopac can communicate with Ethernet connection. That was the only way for me to have access to their signals “on-line”. Is there a possibility to take this as input to presentation online and use that info as an integer?
Or would it cause delays in the presentaion of the experiment to have Matlab running on the same computer? If Biopac can output the calculated HR online in dll does this mean that i could input it in matlab and send it through to the presentation computer? Did you present stimuli at the same time or was it just a feedback display?
I was unable to find any reference mp1500 Biopac features to transmit information TO other systems. Fill out the user mp50 to give us feedback and have input on new features. Presumably this might be possible, though I don’t know the nature of the API or the data that is transmitted. You should tell them that you want to transmit the heart rate information to another system in order to dynamically change a stimulus display, and ask them if they have any capabilities for that.

Jonathan Berrebi I looked at the AcqKnowledge manual here http: Therefore, I think they misunderstood your question – they probably thought you just wanted to view the heart rate value in real time, not communicate that value to another system which will change the stimulus display conditionally.
Since I have done some experiments with biopac and presentation toguether, I could bipac resist writing a post. Biopac input to Presentation.
That could be my feedback to participants. However, this may be beyond the capabilities of many users.

Then it’s no solution for me because I just need the signal to be transmitted to the computer without participants hearing it. The CD includes dll files for C ,matlab, etc. Presentation can record from a microphone, but it does not analyze the wavefiles at all, or do anything with them biiopac runtime other than save them.
But, I would like it to be visual. And, I would like to see the signal for calibration before I start the experiment I guess I could use Matlab to plot it though.
