Danto makes his argument well, although I’m not sure I learned anything. It did not totally convince me to abandon a kind wzrhol animosity for Warhol despite liking some of his work, especially his very early work with everyday objects. His interests span thought, feeling, philosophy of art, theories of representation, philosophical psychology, Hegel’s aesthetics, and the philosophers Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Arthur Schopenhauer.
