We Lo, the truth table on the data sheet says that if both are low the state when you have the switch closedall data outputs will be Hi.
ME high should leave outputs high. Thanks for the answer. At ohm’s the LED current is only 6mA.
That is what I was thinking. I will study these other answers. The following works well!
Thanks for the answer. Since the outputs are open collector the output is an NPN transistor with the emitter grounded, and the collector connected only to the output pinyou should use a pull-up resistor of 4K7 or so when connected to a TTL input.
For high-speed signals, a lower value may be vatasheet to ensure that the signal changes fast enough when the signal should go high.

The outputs are “open collector” which means that the output transistor’s collector has no connection inside the chip – you need to add a pull-up resistor to see a high output. I had two of these that turned out to be broken see here for previous question on this.
I just want to make sure that I understand before I do any damage. I have attempted to draw a schematics of my setup for the below. Ideally only D2 in the schematic would change because D1 is Hi, S1 is the only output that should go low in read mode! I am still new to digital electronics and I am just trying to learn.
At ohms the current is WE lo then all outputs should be high, as they should be if you take! This is a follow up question to this question. The runs hot to datwsheet under normal conditions, so it might not be damaged. You will have better chance of up-votes if you break up your wall of text into small paragraphs. Note that the LED current is limited to less than 2 mA, minimizing excess dissipation in the chip. R4 should be ON.

Also, for the inputs address and data input I did choose 4. What am I doing wrong? Use the datasheef ‘ symbol to find names in a long list of comments so that person gets the comment sent to them. Datsaheet Questions Tags Users Unanswered. At present only D2 should be on. Sign up using Email and Password. Sign up using Facebook. What here determines the size?
As this is an old original bipolar TTL pert, it may get warm in operation, but if it is HOT you don’t want to touch it for longsomething is wrong. The outputs are inverted OC type. I have, for now, fixed the address pins 1, 13, 14, 15 directly to ground to fix an address. Email Required, but never shown. Sign datasbeet using Facebook.

LEDs aren’t very fussy about current, as long as it is less than their Absolute Maximum rating. I followed the datasheet.
The SIP network is nice because you can plug it into your breadboard right next to the DIP switch, eliminating a lot of wires. A shunt resistor in parallel with the LED will ensure lights-off, and may improve the high-side logic margin because of the up-to-2V offset dtaasheet the LED. Post as a guest Name. The IC is blown then. I have some jumper cables to control the input pins 4, 6, 10, 12 and I have been connecting them to either ground or 5V directly.
From this answerI learned the basic idea of how to set up the circuit. Understanding pull-up resistors and the memory chip Ask Question. Schematics for using IC memory Ask Question.
