Delia Hopkins has led a charmed life. And then a policeman knocks on her door, revealing a secret that changes the world as she knows it. For 28 of her 32 years, Delia has believed her mother was dead. But it only differs to the topic that Jodi ats to be enjoyed by the reader, unfortunately I never enjoyed it.
I’ve loved everything she’s written for the most part but this book left me hanging. I was perfectly happy to sign a marriage certificate at the courthouse. She tackles many issues vanisihng this book including kidnapping, alcoholism, memory, being a parent, etc. I’m wondering why people like Jodi Piccoult so much and am very apprehensive about picking another one of her books.

I had read the book prior to taking the course and did not reread it. A recurrent theme in Vanishing Acts is self-identity. The premise is fascinating but unfortunately, the characters were not as finely etched.
Eric starts drinking again a little bit, no wife-beating, child-endangering, pass-out in a bar kind of drinking because she puts the most incredible pressure on him imaginable. No picoylt tree can bear our climate, where we have not only White Christmases but also White Halloweens. I bend down to pick them up.
She can never remember her 4 years experience but one thing that really force her to know was her dream of her father planting a licoult tree if I’m not mistaken in the backyard. Jodi, I’m not happy with Vanishing Acts but I really enjoyed the last 2 books I read before depreciating this book. This is a story which will stick with readers for a long time pucoult have you asking yourself, “Would I have done the same thing?
